James Byun

Lead Designer

As a Lead Designer at OXD, James works with the design team to create meaningful design solutions in a variety of media including websites, web applications, and products. In addition to leading both graphic design production and motion design, he assists with art direction, and works closely with the development team to code designs that are beautiful and easy-to-use. Before joining OXD, James was a senior product designer at Tyler Technologies where he built products for jurors and jury clerks for various regions in the United States, as well as a designer at digital agency Mod7, where he worked with clients including the BC Dairy Association, Electronic Arts, and the Law Society of British Columbia. 

After completing Capilano University’s 3D Animation and Visual FX program, James graduated from Langara College’s Electronic Media Design program. James has been honing his skills in design direction, front end implementation, and customer/user research and collaboration methods to understand needs, product direction, and desired features.

James is a foodie at heart, and when he isn’t out enjoying new restaurants or a well-crafted scotch, he’s participating in an intense game of hockey, building his fantasy football team, or exploring the globe.
