/// go2 was created in 2003 on the recommendation of an 18 month task force involving more than 100 industry representatives and stakeholders around the province. As a result of the taskforce, a five year development strategy, focusing on the areas of recruitment, retention and training was developed and go2 was created to spearhead and coordinate these initiatives. The go2 website is a crucial part of that strategy, providing employers and potential workers with information about the tourism industry.
OpenRoad helped go2 re-launch their second generation website in February 2006. Working along side design firm Raised Eyebrow, OpenRoad provided technical support, data migration, and enhancement services. The go2 website is powered by the DotNetNuke open source portal package, which allows for automated content management. Custom development was done using ASP.NET.
The redesigned go2hr.ca site helps British Columbia tourism industry find employees, improve hiring practices, enhance the management of employees and learn about career paths. Users of the go2 website can find valuable information on finding, keeping, training and managing tourism employees; post jobs for free on the go2 Job Board; find HR suppliers in the go2 Marketplace; improve knowledge with self-guided emerit tourism training products; get FOODSAFE Correspondence and Serving It Right Certification; and register their tourism company and be included in the go2's Company Directory at no charge.
